On the off chance that you haven't already heard, we're now just one day away from the 2013 New York International Auto Show, folks. Oh yes, there's lots to get excited about, and if we could bear to leave our new and used cars for a week and head on over to the Big Apple, we'd do it in a heartbeat. Alas, it just wouldn't be right. But that's okay, because we here at Fred Beans Subaru still need time to process everything that happened at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
Now, unless we're missing something here, the general consensus seems to be that gas prices aren't going down anytime soon. Apologies if we just burst some bubbles with that one, but with fuel-efficiency at an all-time premium, we can't say we're surprised that so many drivers are now turning to alternate fuels to save some money at the pump. So when our favorite automaker pulled back the curtain on the Subaru Viziv Concept in Geneva recently, we saw the future of hybrid driving.
If you didn't get a chance to see it in the metal, allow us to fill you in. Like the showcar that it is, the Viziv is a four-seat crossover outfitted with 20-inch wheels, cutting-edge lighting and even some butterfly doors to match. As for what's under the hood, we've got a 2.0-liter diesel boxer engine and two electric motors that power the rear wheels, all of which work together to provide drivers with all-wheel drive. Not only that, but thanks to its side-to-side torque vectoring, handling on the Viziv is nothing short of top-notch.
Needless to say, it's a head-turner alright, but unfortunately, there's still no word on whether the Viziv will make its way to the production line. Still, that's not stopping us from crossing our fingers.
So until we hear more, make sure to keep checking back on our blog for all the latest, and if you'd like to learn more about all the fuel-efficient models at our dealership, feel free to visit the experts in our parts department down here at 830 N. Easton Road in Doylestown, PA 18902.
